Hi, my first post on the forum and new to motorcycles. I’m trying to resurrect an imported 2013 Monster 796. The VIN shows it as a 2013 796 but it has a 696 double sided swinging arm. Could someone help to decode the engine number ZDMAA1F007837, trying to figure out what engine is installed.
Frame VIN is ZDM1RANN2DB065499

Hi, Thanks for the reply. I had a look online, the frame VIN was OK but the Engine number code is a bit odd…..I was led to believe that the characters after the ZDM were the engine capacity, however mine is ….AA1F….??
The bike is a Chinese import, a bit of a Frankenstein…….on paper it seems to be a Monster 796 but has the dual rear swinging arms from a 696 with corresponding 160/17 wheels.
The bike runs and drives and is in pretty good condition with only 10,500 Miles on the clock, so would like to get it back on the road. Have a dating request in process with the Ducati Owners Club, so will wait for them to come back to me.
