2017 MTS 950 Brake light stuck ON

Hi All,

Need some help diagnosing a ALWAYS ON brake light on my MTS. Not sure when it decided to remain ON, but found it today…
Steps / tests done to date:

  1. Rear brake switch unplugged and light remains ON
  2. Rear brake switch tested with multi-meter (continuity) and switch is well…switching
  3. Unplugged front brake switch and tested with MM (continuity) and switch is switching.
  4. Both switches unplugged - light remains ON

Any advise would be greatly appreciated

Thank you

No offence . But are you definitely sure its not your day time running light

Hi Mate,
yup 100% sure.

Update: had bike at Ducati for a scan - rear brake switch think it’s being pressed although unplugged, same with yet another new switch.
Ducati recons a new wiring loom is required circa 2,500 of our best Stirling Pounds. Not going to happen, so got the trust multimeter out again and started tracing the rear loom as I now atleast know it is the rear brake that trigger it.
“Think” I found the piece of loom that is faulty…waiting for new one to arrive this week to install and test but when unplugging the loom the light goes out, when plug back in the light goes on, so trust I am one step closer…oh and new piece of rear brake loom, from Ducati, was all of 30 quid!
Fingers crossed the new wires arrive this week and I can install and test before the weekend…

Appreciate the comment / suggestion! thank you
