Finally got round to removing the motor from my Elefant 900AC (the carbed one) for a peek inside. Everything from the base gaskets up is a bit of a mess. Both barrels scored, guides worn, one exhaust valve recessed and the other in the early stages of burning out. I have a plan (and a price) for refurbishment, but if anyone out there has an early 900 Monster (or SS) top end they’d like to sell (the ones with the triangular oil-feed casting on the barrels), then I would be sooo pleased to hear from you.
