I was just admiring the newly released forged aluminum 6-spoke GASS RS-A rear wheel. The machining is beautiful, and that deep anodized finish on the spokes looks absolutely flawless straight out of the box.
As much as I’d love to drop the unsprung weight and get that aggressive 6-spoke look on my bike, I instantly stressed about the very first tire change. Handing over a pristine forged rim to a busy shop with a metal tire machine sounds like a genuine nightmare.
For those of you running flawless aftermarket wheels, do you just accept that lip scratches are inevitable over time, or do you hover over the tire tech like a hawk every time you need fresh rubber?
