BikeFest South to host Milano Taranto send-off and ride in
West-Sussex based International Italian Motorcycle restoration specialists Motori Di Marino are putting together a team of classic bike riders to take part in the Milano Taranto between 2nd and 8th July. Tfis will see five classic Italian bikes restored by Motor di Marino completing a 2,000 mile tour as part of this world-famous event.
To celebrate the launch and give the team a great send-off, we are creating a unique opportunity for the visitors to BikeFest South to see them off on their travels, and for their supporters to ride the first part of the journey in convoy with them to BikeFest South on Sunday June 11th as they start their long adventure.
Departing at 10.30 from Motori di Marino’s West Chiltington base, the ride will be escorted along a scenic route through the rolling West Sussex Countryside arriving at Goodwood Motor Racing Circuit at 11.30.
Here the rider’s classic machines will be displayed in a prominent display position, and the riders available for photocalls and to meet the visitors.
The riders, whose combined age is over 300, are:
• Les Hampton, 71, - 1950 Moto Guzzi 500 Astore
• Jan-Willem Labeij, 51, - Moto Morini 175 SetteBello
• Bjørn Christiansen, 70, - 1953 Moto Guzzi 250 Airone
• Jack Hagan, 61, - 2001 Ducati ST4s
• John Watson, 47, - 1955 Gilera 500 Saturno Sport
Those taking part in the ride will be allocated space in the exclusive groups Bike Park immediately adjacent to the centre of the show, details of which are at www.bikefestsouth.co.uk
