Imported Panigale - DVLA registration

Hello DOC members,

I’m after some assistance on a challenge I have with my Panigale.

In short, bought an 1199 Panigale from Riders in Cardiff back in 2014.

Exported it, unregistered to the UAE and shipped it back to the UK. Planned to race it in the UK, but never got round to fully converting, bike has sat in my garage for the last 6/7 years.

Now want to register it with DVLA and it’s somewhat of a challenge. I’ve had to get an MSVA as the bikes never been registered in the UK.
Now I need to MOT, Insure and Tax before I can get a registration number.

So, questions are this:

  1. Has anyone else gone through something similar and can provide any pointers or tips.
  2. Can anyone recommend a good company to insure on a Chassis number prior to the V5 coming through? (Last quote I had made me fall off my chair!)

I don’t understand how you can get an MOT or tax it or insure it without a registration number?

When you re-imported it did you go through the NOVA system?

Having to go through NOVA again as it was so long ago.

MOT can be done on Chassis number and VED/Tax is part of the registration process.

Challenging process as it’s convoluted, but the insurance quotes on a chassis number we’re daft.
