Multistrada 620 forks upgrade

morning all. I’m desperately determined to prolong the riding experience after prostate surgery, so some plushness is required in the suspension department.

I have renewed the rear shock with an OEM Sachs unit with remote - as used on the 1000 model, so I’m now keen to improve the performance of the forks, which as standard are non-adjustable Marzocchis. I’ve tried lighter oil with some success but more forgiveness is required.

would forks from the bigger MTS models - 1000 or 1100 - be a straight swap?

I looked through historic posts without finding an answer.

the economically sensible answer would likely be to trade up to the bigger model, but weight plays a big part in this so I’d like to stick to the “wee” MTS which is really nimble.

hoping a fellow DOC member can guide me on this.

thanks. David.

UPDATE : I have now discovered that Maxtons are offering a smaller, road version of their GP30 cartridges called the SD25. They advise that these should fit the 620 fork legs, but they haven’t actually carried out an installation so some mods may be required. I’ll keep you posted if I go down this road. It’s quite costly and could still be on the firm side?

So would still welcome thoughts on my query above, PLUS for by better understanding are the existing forks split rebound/compression in different legs?
