Does anyone know if it’s possible to recreate the ‘stipple’ black finish found on the Marzocchi fork legs of the 1970s and 80s? My 38mm Marzocchis need a full refurb and I’d like to retain the original finish, though I’m thinking it’s probably extremely difficult to replicate.
Hi Mark, I know that professional painters can provide the crinckle effect finish on the fork legs and fork yokes, as I had this done some time ago by Goldburn Finishers, I think.
But I’m not sure if you can get this effect from a can.
Cheers
Rob
Hi Rob, thanks for the reply. I’m more than happy to get a professional job done, if it achieves the finish I’m after. I’ll look-up Goldburn Finishers. As far as you’re aware, are they still in business?
Thanks again,
Mark
Hello Mark,
Yes, they are still in business. They are located in Bordon, Hants.
Here’s the web page regarding bikes etc.
Cheers

Thanks for the photographs, Rob. They’ve certainly achieved a fantastic finish, I’ll definitely be in touch with them.
Best regards,
Mark
