Radiators failing. 899

I have a 2014 899 with full Ducati service history. It’s not been a happy time. When it’s working it puts a smile on my face. When it fails; not so.

Bottom radiator split on its left side a week before first valve service. Rear cams & followers also replaced at same time due to failing hardened surface(soft surface). Second valve service the top radiator had failed on its rear face in the middle. No penetration of a foreign object. The rad just failed. Same as my bottom one.

So now in communication with the factory in getting redress for paying a stupid amount for a new top rad. New one had a KTM sticker on it!!!

My question is; has anyone else had radiator failures? Bike has done 30,000 miles.

Seen failures a lot earlier than that, best of luck to get something on something so old, same manufacturer makes for KTM

My GS has 2 radiators and has done 73000 miles. Its radiators are fine.

This Ducati ownership had been awful:

Bottom radiator split at the side. Rear cams & followers hardened surfaces fell apart. (Front cylinder valve train fine) Now top radiator failed on its rear surface.

Dealing with Greta in Italy. Started this in March!!!

Very strange, not heard that on the newer bikes.

Hope you get a positive outcome

I’ve been in contact with the factory since March!!!
