Running MHR / 900SS on modern fuel

I’m close to getting my 1983 MHR ready to run again after over 20 years resting. The last time it was running was when you could get 4 star fuel.

Can anyone advise if they are running their MHR / 900SS on unleaded with original valve gear and if they use any additives?

I’m in same position been told valve gear is fine, ignition timing about to find out ( fuel slower burn )

I use Esso which is 99 proof
So far so good
