I know this sounds a daft question but when I start my 1995 Ducati 750ss it is a slow starter, I don’t know wether it is the starter motor or the battery although the battery is quite new, any ideas anyone?
It shouldn’t be that slow, not like the larger 4 valves, it could be the battery, the starter motor, or even the solenoid?
Check the main cable connections at the battery, solenoid and the one on the starter motor for corrosion and tightness.
Also check the earth cable from the battery to the frame / engine for the same.
Kevin.
Did you replace the battery like-for-like? Batteries have different ratings in terms of Amps per hour and cold cranking Amps.
