I must be mad!! But just before Xmas I brought myself a Ducati Designs headlight for my P&J. I am now in the midle of servicing the bike and fitting the light. BUT and I am not too sure just how big a but it is. Their is no provision for the side light.(not that I have ever used it) BUT is it a MOT requirement? can anyone help with this question? Mick M
Not sure on that one, maybe it comes under if fitted must work rule. However when I got 450 Scrambler MOTed last year it only had high beam and low beam as there was no provision for a parking light and it passed.
I think, if you have a sidelight position on your switch then it must work, or you must alter the wiring so that the low baem comes on in that position.
I replaced the switch on my Darmah recently, with one that only has off and on so it doesn’t have a sidelight position which is OK MOT wise.
I have just been told via Real classic web site that all is well as if it’s not their it can’t work, never mind the switch. As it’s only the side light,I can’t think of the last time that I used one on either the bike’s or car, I only use dip beam as a rule. Cause their are too many sorry I did’nt see you idiot’s out and about. Mick M
If you’ve no parking light then you’ll be limited to where you can legally (and safely) park at night, even if you just stop for 10 minutes and don’t want to leave your keys in the bike!.
