High crowd figures ensure the 74th edition of EICMA is a success, with visitor numbers expected to have set a new record

Milan (Italy), 13 November 2016 – The Ducati SuperSport is the most beautiful bike of the 2016 EICMA show. As the 74th edition of the Milan exhibition draws to a close, the public that has crowded the Halls of the International Milan-Rho Trade Show District over a five-day period has declared the queen of the bikes on show. The result is thanks to the “Vote and win the most beautiful bike of the Show” survey, organised by Italian magazine Motociclismo. Now in its twelfth edition, the survey has awarded the prize to Ducati on eight occasions (including the last four editions), with bikes that, right from their first appearance at the show, have set a new reference on the international motorcycling landscape.

More than 12,000 fans expressed their preference and the SuperSport was deemed best-looking bike by both the visitors to the Show and the users of the “Motociclismo” website. The new Ducati sports road bike secured first place, receiving 13.2% more votes than the second-placed bike.

The votes were counted on Sunday 13 November, the final day of the Show, at the “Motociclismo” stand, in front of a large crowd and in the presence of Caterina Tartufari, (EICMA Project Manager), Piero Bacchetti (President and CEO of Edisport Editoriale), Federico Aliverti, (Director of “Motociclismo”) and Julien Clement (Ducati Design Centre Senior Designer and Designer of the SuperSport) who received the award on behalf of the Bolognese motorcycle manufacturing company.
The “most beautiful bike of the Show” prizegiving comes at the end of an intense week of exhibitions and events, with overall visitor numbers that are set to exceed those of 2015.

The Ducati SuperSport is designed for those who love a sports-inspired bike that is also able to offer comfort and riding ease on everyday roads.
A fun, versatile and accessible bike, with the look and spirit of a real Ducati sports bike. It is accessible thanks to its rideability, active safety offered by the Ducati Safety Pack (Bosch ABS + Ducati Traction Control) and the high value of its equipment in relation to the price, combined with its long service intervals.
The SuperSport is equipped with the 937 cm³ Testastretta 11° twin-cylinder engine, that supplies 113 HP and a full, linear torque curve. Thanks to the three Riding Modes (Sport, Touring and Urban), the character of the SuperSport adapts to offer maximum enjoyment in any condition. Agile in the city, practical on the motorway and efficient on out-of-town paths, the SuperSport is undoubtedly a versatile bike. The comfortable seating position, for both the rider and passenger, the aerodynamic protection ensured by the height-adjustable Plexiglas and the level of autonomy guaranteed by the 16-litre tank all contribute to making the new Ducati sports bike an entertaining travel companion even on medium-range trips.
The SuperSport range also includes the SuperSport S version, equipped with fully adjustable Öhlins suspension, Ducati Quick Shift up/down and a passenger seat cover; these components are also available, as accessories, for the SuperSport.

From day one of the show, the public flocked to the Ducati stand. Seven key models were presented, five Ducatis (from the exclusive, hyper-technological 1299 Superleggera, to the new Monster 797 and 1200, the new Multistrada 950 and, of course, the SuperSport), and two Ducati Scramblers (the Desert Sled and the Cafè Racer). Seven new dream bikes that have played a starring role during the 74th edition of EICMA.
