It’s starting to look like a bike!

I like tank with the clear strip - must get myself one of those some time.

I’ve got my engine in, swinging arm with new bushes (and spindle borrowed from one of my road bike projects), wheels with new tyres, taper rollers in the steering head, rebuilt steering damper, etc, etc.
At this rate I might even get to make a start on a spare engine!

Yes, as soon as I get around to geting them off the camera and onto some website or another.
I’m hardly getting any time to do anything at the minure - really busy at work then doing Scouts, my bike, my mates Benelli, etc, etc.

Keep nagging at me and I’ll get it done sooner or later.

Do you measure endfloat (for shimming) using a dial gauge or plastigauge?

I’m brewing up towards building a spare (road spec) engine and I’m nearly ready to shim it.

Hi Roger,
I always use a Dial Guage to check end float on the shafts.
I use Plastigauge when checking the clearance of the bigends on the plain/shell bearing motors.
Soft solder for the squish clearence, which’s then measured with a Micrometer.
Plasticine in the valve pockets.
