With the clocks going back and temperatures dropping, it will not be long before the salt wagons hit the road. If you are out and about on your bike these winter evenings and the gritters have been out, make sure you wash your wheels thoroughly before you put your bike to bed. I may be talking to the converted here, but I discovered damage to my discs last winter. This was corrosion, caused by having the salt on my sintered brake pads. I have to admit I didn’t know anything about these pads, but I do know. So I put this thread up as warning to others, like me, who never knew about this winter problem.

Good point - maybe I could include that in the next ‘Desmo’ and credit you?
